Yesterday I met a few of my friends from back home in London for a cheeky little day out. We popped to Borough Market next to London Bridge station – I had never been before but always walked past and wondered what it was. I thought it was like a flower market but I was wrong. It was amazing! There were tonnes of food stalls from Turkish delicacies to all the cheeses you could think of to fish, to desserts to burgers and curries. SO much variety!
We’d popped there for a spot of lunch and a wander and I didn’t fancy eating anything too hard to eat whilst walking around; so I opted for a vegetarian Indian dish of rice with bombay potatoes (my fave) and this cauliflower tomato dish and can I just say it was delish! Then I had fresh orange and pineapple juice to go with it! I need to go there again and take my boyfriend as we’re big food lovers and will definitely buy some cheeky bits for our fridge!
Next, we popped over to Somerset House for a look at ‘Guy Bourdin’s’ photography Exhibition; it felt like I was back at school! I hadn’t actually ever been to an exhibition before without school, but I really enjoyed it! I don’t know why I’ve never been before to be honest, I live in London and all the big exhibitions happen here and it’s just something interesting and different to do. It was great that I was very familiar with Guy Bourdin’s work, I studied him whilst on my Fashion with Photography degree at Southampton Solent University. His work is stunning and so so innovative. He had these weird and interesting ideas, that just made a photo so captivating. I loved his pieces of the prosthetic legs he took around with him on a road trip, photographing them in different places all around the UK. What a clever idea for a story. I wish I had kept up photography, I still do enjoy it now but with my blog it’s hard to take good photos of yourself and I never had ideas like Guy Bourdin. The exhibition is there until 15th March 2015, so I would definitely recommend having a look around, it only takes about half an hour and costs £9 for adults.
Next, we decided to stroll from Somerset House to Oxford Circus hitting a few shops on the way. I was off to meet my boyfriend and to have a wander with him before getting some dinner on our cheat night of the week. Yup, we have a cheat night! We eat pretty healthily throughout the week and then on one night of the weekend we dedicate it to getting a takeaway or eating bad food. We decided to pop into Libertys as always and perve over all the cool things we cannot afford. There was some really cool house bits in their! I wanted everything!! Was pretty cool spotting Emma Watson in there though – she can actually afford the stuff in there unlike me….
After our little mooch we went into our next fave shop – ‘Choccywoccydoodah’!!! God I love it in there! My wedding cake is soooooo coming from there. I fell in love with their unicorn cake, soooo sassy! Then we got some Ben’s Cookies – I was told they’re amazing so just had to try. And then we popped to our fave American Diner in London – Bodean’s to have dinner… However that didn’t go to plan as it was a 2 1/2 hour wait for a table!!! We kind of forgot it would be busy on a Saturday. So instead we spontaneously went back home, got a Pizza Hut delivery and watched Saturday night TV – I am a sucker for nights like that though.
What did you all get up to yesterday?
Peace
