Yesterday I was lucky enough to get to experience the Mad Hatters Tea party at The Sanderson hotel in Central London. It was for my younger sisters birthday – very late late birthday! You do have to book in advance for these London teas, especially the themed ones as they get booked up quickly.
The hotel staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming when we arrived and we were introduced to the menu as soon as we sat down. The menu was so adorable it was placed within an Alice in Wonderland book – such a quirky way to have a menu! We all had these fab monochrome crockery with mad hatter themed designs on them and a cute riddle on our napkins. The whole set up was well thought through and added to the experience.
The tea was formed of an array of sandwiches, savoury and sweet scones, mini quiches and themed cakes! It was so so delish!! I definitely much preferred this tea to the Fashion one I went to last month – you can read about that in one of my recent posts. They kept the flavours of their cakes simple but gave it their own twist with how they presented it. The cheesecake had to be my favourite bit! It was so so yummy!
My Mum has issues with food because of having an under active thyroid and the hotel were so helpful with this! They made her a specially made salmon and cream cheese plate as she couldn’t eat certain things on the tea menu. For a hotel to do that, it just shows they care about their customers and will go as far as they can to make sure you enjoyed your stay. And that just adds to your whole experience when the staff are pleasant.
