Now some of you may be thinking, this is a little different for Sophie Hannah Richardson’s blog. And well yes it is! But I wanted to share some news with you that I’m in the process of buying my first home with my boyfriend.

Now, we’re hoping everything goes smoothly as we’ve had a few little hiccups in the last few weeks which we’ve had to sort out. However in the meantime I’ve been having some fun trying to plan every room’s interior.

I didn’t realise how much fun it would be researching interiors, planning decor and looking for inspiration. Obviously I’ve set up a Pinterest board for this which you can find here.

There’s so many cool ideas I’d like to do; I think I’ve probably got too many ideas though, so will need to whittle it down when it comes to actually buying furniture. I think my boyfriend and I have decided on a colour scheme for most of the rooms which is great! So we have an idea in mind.

The big news is that we’re actually moving out of London and back to our hometown of Colchester in Essex. It’s a big move but we know it’s right. We tried to buy in London but house prices are insane and we could only afford a 1 bed flat that was in like Zone 4-6! It was a big decision to move back to Essex as our commute is going to cost more and be longer, however the price of a house is half of what we were looking for in London, AND we’ve got a 2 bedroom house… WITH A GARDEN!

It’s really cute, built in the 1890s and it’s kept some of its original features such as cast iron fireplaces in every room. The bonus as well is that the kitchen and bathroom are brand new! I’m just so excited and eager to get into the space now and start making it into our home.
