SECRET GARDEN PARTY FESTIVAL

secret garden party festival
There’s 3 words that can describe the Secret Garden Party Festival. BEST FESTIVAL EVER! I’ve been to lots of festivals before in the past, but none of them have even come close to competing with this truly amazing festival I was lucky enough to attend. I was sent to SGP by Rocket Dog to cover the festival and style up their shoes and I’m so grateful they chose me to go! I was allowed to take a plus 1 too and so obviously I chose my fellow coloured hair gal Paige Joanna; I could count on her for getting glittered up with me!

The festival was set over 4 days, with the main action happening over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the weekend. The music was a nice mixture of quirky bands, house, techno and chilled so there was something for everyone. I think the best thing about the festival was the way it looked. So much effort had been put into the set up with props and art installations. The festival collaborated with lots of artists whom created lots of different elements of the festival, from the building of stages to huge graffiti walls. Another thing I loved about this festival was how random it was. You’d walk into the woods and then suddenly discover hidden stages or you’d walk over a hill and find a stage with everyone jumping on space hoppers. There was even a dancing, singing vagina and penis at the Spiritual tent that acted out different comedy stories all day long. They even had a part of the evening where they just played disney songs for us all to dance to – it was literally amazing!
There was just so much to see and do at this festival that you didn’t get bored. There were hot tubs, a karaoke tent, a dance off stage, a paint fight, fireworks, boating lake and so much more.
We were so lucky with the weather too, I didn’t even need to get out my Rocket Dog wellies; I spent the whole weekend in a pair of their comfy, flatform sneaks.
Another favourite thing about the festival was the fact everyone got involved in dressing up. Even the guys! There was so much glitter and sequins and it was just amazing! You know I love makeup, so I had a blast creating different festival makeup looks during the festival and I only work sparkly outfits.
I also completely a life goal at the festival too. You might be thinking, what the hell could that be. Well, I became a mermaid! Yup, they had a stall where you could pop on a mermaid tail and chill in it! It was the best thing.
I can’t brag enough about how incredible this festival was. I know I’m going to be shouting about it for a long time now, and it’s definitely on the cards again for next year.
