SMOOTHSKIN BARE HAIR REMOVAL

Beauty

I’m so excited to be reviewing Smoothskin Bare. I don’t know if any of you suffer with fast hair growth like me; but I’m so tired of it now. For example, if I shave my legs one evening, the hairs have already started coming through again by the morning and they feel spiky. My hair is quite dark as well, so this also doesn’t help as it makes it much more noticeable.

I’m bored of having to shave everyday. One, it’s time consuming and two, it’s a lot of effort. So when RKM  Communications introduced me to Smoothskin, I just had to try it out. Smoothskin Bare is an IPL (intense pulsed light) hair removal system that you can use at home. It can be used on all parts of the body and it’s so quick and easy to do. You can get your whole body done in just 10 minutes – how amazing is that?!

When you open the product, you will find: the IPL system, plug and a really useful user guide. I made sure to read through the user guide before using as I had never used anything like this before. It offers some great tips on how to use and not use the product, along with how IPL actually works and the aftercare.

Previous to receiving the product, I hadn’t heard about IPL, so it was really interesting to read about how it works. It’s designed to break the hair cycle and prevent regrowth – something that would really make an impact on my daily routine. Light energy is transferred through the skin’s surface and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. The light energy is converted to heat, which helps stop the hairs from growing back.

Before using the product, you need to make sure you’ve shaved all of the areas that you want to focus on. I’m more bothered about my leg hair, so I wanted to give that a try first. I made sure my legs were shaved, clean and dry and then I plugged the Smoothskin Bare in. Don’t be alarmed by the noise it makes! The system has a little fan, so that’s just the noise you can hear. I then sat down in a comfy chair and began the process!

I was a bit nervous at first as I wasn’t sure if I was going to feel anything. I popped the light part of the system against my leg and waited for the white light to appear around the button. Once it does, you’re good to go ahead and press it! The system then emits a red light and whilst it does you can either glide it up your leg, or if you’re doing smaller areas keep it still. I glided it up my leg and made sure I covered the whole surface area. I can’t believe how quickly I did both of my legs in! It only took a few minutes. I was also surprised that I didn’t really feel anything; my skin felt a little warm afterwards but there was no pain or any irritation. The great thing about the user guide is that if you are worried about any sensations, there’s a chart in the back which tells you whether you can carry on using the system or to contact their helpline.

So you’re all probably thinking, when do you see results! And me to! For the best results you need to be using the system once a week and should see results in 4! One thing to mention here, is that if you do go abroad or into the sunshine, your skin can be very sensitive from sun exposure so it’s best to not use the product until a week or so after.

I’m going to be continuing to use this product over the next month or so and then I’m going to be doing a full review over on my YouTube channel, so do keep your eyes peeled for that!
