HATERS GONNA HATE - Sophie Hannah

There’s always going to be hate across social media and I will never understand why people feel the need to be so cruel to others. I think I get at least one negative message a day. Whether that be on my Instagram or my YouTube. Someone is sitting behind a computer spending their day trolling and I seem to always be their victim. At first it used to upset me, but now I’m used to it and to be honest, it makes me laugh. I’ve gone past caring. In 2016, something changed in me and I was able to see past the negativity and ignore the cruel comments. And thank god I did because if you let the comments bother you, it won’t be good for your mental health.

I don’t care what people think of me anymore. I love what I do. I will wear glitter on my face, I will have whatever colour hair I want, I will draw my brows on my way. I’m not going to change for these trolls, so they can take their comments elsewhere!

I recently collaborated with a photographer on this outfit in Venice Beach, LA and when I was thinking of what to write alongside the images, the topic of haters and how I deal with them came to mind. These photos portray my attitude perfectly. I went and stood in the centre of the buzzing Venice Beach, wearing my underwear and a see through mesh jumpsuit, and did I care what people thought? NO! The haters are gonna hate, but I’m not changing for them.
