GLITTER BEARD

Beauty

Since the glitter beard became trending via the fabulous duo below, I’ve wanted to give it a go. Obviously I can’t give it a go myself because I don’t have a beard. Maybe I could have purchased a stick on one – I never thought about that until right now actually; interesting…

A glitter beard video works much better if you’ve got a guy. So when my boyfriend randomly decided to grow a beard at the end of 2016, I knew I had to some how persuade him to be a part of it. I was surprised that he didn’t actually take that much persuading! I was shocked when he was so up for it; he hasn’t ever filmed a video with me before either, not properly anyway. He’s started making a feature in my weekly vlogs but not a sit down and let’s do a tutorial or chatty video.

He was actually alright at shooting the video with me which was great! The glitter beard process is a really simple creation, using hair gel and fine glitter dust. I was going to opt for a chunky glitter but I wasn’t sure how well it would stick to the hair. I raided my glitter box – it’s a joke how many glitter pots I have! I don’t even think I’ve got round to using every single one because I have so many! I ended up opting for silver for Robin, because it was the biggest pack of fine glitter I could find. You need quite a fair bit to cover a whole beard, don’t forget the hair under the neck as well!

Robin at first wasn’t keen on the hair gel being applied, but once the glitter was all on, he actually thought it looked quite cool! He said he’d definitely wear it for a festival, so I’m hoping he sticks to what he’s said and attends one with me this year with his glitter beard. It’s such a fun creation for a festival, especially if you’re attending one like Secret Garden Party; so many guys sported glitter beards at last years festival. Who thinks their boyfriend will be brave enough to try this look out?

You can catch the full video right here!
