Love Story is Chloè’s latest perfume. Inspired by Parisian romance, and love padlocks on the bridge of Pont des Arts, it makes the perfect gift for her, for Valentine’s Day. I think every girl will be with me with this one… We all dream of having our own love story one day. Growing up watching American chick flicks always made me lust over having a cute relationship with a guy; from glancing at each other whilst crossing the street, to getting butterflies when he spoke to me; I dreamt of having that chick flick love story.

When you actually grow up, you end up realising that movie relationships are nothing like reality. It takes two to tango, as they say. You need both parties to want a relationship for it to work. You need trust, you need love, you need friendship. I have all of that and more with Robin. I’m a lucky girl to have found a guy that actually wants to be with me and loves everything about me (I hope!). So I thought I’d share my love story with you.

As you know Robin and I have been dating for 8 years now – I KNOW (where’s the ring)! I recently introduced him in a blog post but I didn’t go into too much detail about our relationship. When we met, I was at Sixth Form College and Robin was studying Sports. We had our first date at the cinema and were seeing each other for about a month before he finally asked me to be his girlfriend… He funnily enough asked me on a night out when he was drunk and the next day I remember being so nervous to talk to him because I wasn’t sure if he had remembered asking me or not HA HA! But he remembered and we’ve been going out ever since.

A year and a half into our relationship was when my Dad passed away. Because I lived with my Mum, Robin never really properly knew my Dad, I think they met each other a handful of times. Robin was my rock though, as cheesy as that sounded. Neither of us had ever experienced anything like it before; it wasn’t just me dealing with the loss of my Dad, it was tough on Robin too as he wasn’t sure what to do or say around me; he wanted to make things better but he couldn’t. He has really helped me through the toughest period in my life, he might not have known what to say, but he was a great listener and didn’t mind if I started randomly crying or had angry outbursts.

After around 2 years, I left our hometown to move to Southampton for University and I was there for 3 years. Now neither of us knew how we’d cope, most University relationships we’d heard of never worked; but ours did. I think the longest we went without seeing each other was 2/3 months. It was tough, but we got through it! Robin had started working and living in London and his job meant him having to work weekends and over night which was pretty much opposite to my University schedule. 3 years passed though and we’d made it through!

I then pretty much moved to London after University so it was a lot nicer being closer together. I lived with my friends and he lived with his. It worked for about a year, but we had been dating for 5 1/2 years now and I think we both knew it was time to move in together. We moved to a cute flat in Wandsworth Town for just under 2 years and it was really fun living together. So fun that last year we ended up moving back to our hometown in Essex and buying our first home together! And a few months after that we started our own family… Nope I’m not talking about children! We bought a puppy, Luna, and it’s literally the best thing having a dog. We couldn’t imagine life without her now, and it was so nice to be able to experience that together.

It’s amazing to see how much we’ve grown together and everything that we’ve experienced. It’s definitely made us stronger. If you keep scrolling down you’ll even get to see a snippet of our Love Story; photos of when we first started dating to now. So that’s my love story… What’s yours?
