VALENTINE'S GLITTER MAKEUP AND HAIR

You know I said moving forward in 2017, any makeup look I create I’ll always add glitter? Well here’s some Valentine’s makeup and hair inspiration for you featuring these cute red glitter hearts from The Gypsy Shrine. When I set my eyes on this glitter product, I knew it was perfect for my Valentine’s makeup tutorial I had planned to create.

Just like my Valentine’s outfit inspiration, I themed this makeup look with the love shade of red too. Some people might think the red eyes and lips might be a bit too much, but I personally think it works; especially with the black hearts under my eyes, it helps break the colours up. For the application of this look I began with my base makeup; a lot of people start with their eyes first, but because I apply glitter on my cheekbones, I need my base complete before anything else. Next I work on the eyes. Lime Crime have an amazing palette called Venus which features 8 eye shades. I blended Muse into the lid, Icon into the crease and Rebirth on the under eye and inner corner. Using Eyeko’s Black Magic Liquid Liner (which is amazing by the way; It gives you great precision), I drew two small hearts underneath my eyes, in line with my pupils. I created the heart shape first before filling it in, in black. Then we got to the fun part! The glitter! I individually applied red hearts so it gave the illusion like the were sprinkling down my cheekbone from the corner of my eyes. You can use anything from vaseline to eyelash glue to adhere these. And to finish off my red themed look I lined my lips with a Mac Lip Liner and popped on a little NYX lipstick.

Moving onto my hair, I wanted to keep in line with the theme of love, so I created a braid in the shape of a heart. I love this look as it’s really subtle and a fabulous hairstyle for any Valentine’s occasion. I opted for a dutch style of plait, as I love the way the braid sits on top of the hair; and I finished off with giving my locks a bit of a wave using GHDs and a crimping technique. And voila, I’m ready for date night!
