5 WAYS TO WEAR A PONYTAIL

Beauty

Fed up with a normal ponytail? Wanting to jazz it up? Then here’s 5 ways to wear a ponytail differently.I always get bored of my hair; bored of creating the same hairstyles over and over. I much prefer getting creative and trying something new. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see that I play around with hairstyles and offer lots of inspiration. So I thought I would play around with ponytails, and offer you 5 different ways you can make it different. Think braids, twists and quiffs!

Two Braids into a Ponytail

For this look, you parting you hair down the middle and create two dutch braids from the front of your hair, going around towards the back. Once each braid has reached the back you secure with a small elastic band. You then gather all of the hair into a ponytail and secure again. If you want you can add a cute scrunchie, or hide the band by wrapping hair around and pin into place.

Centre Braid into a Ponytail

For this one, you need to section a strip of hair down the centre, from front to back and put the rest of your hair aside so it doesn’t get in the way. You’re then going to dutch braid the middle section of hair, down to the back of your neck and secure with an elastic band. Now take all of the hair and secure in a ponytail and voila!

Knot Ponytail

You’re going to leave a section of hair on both sides at the front and create a ponytail with the rest of the hair. Then get the two sections of hair at the front that you left aside, bring them round to the back and tie a knot. Bring the ends of the hair underneath the elastic band and secure. The knot should be on top of the hairband and hiding it.

Quiff Ponytail

This is a ponytail that adds volume. You want to grab the top section of your hair, twist it at the back and secure with grips. This creates volume in the form of a quiff. Then put the rest of the hair into a ponytail and easy peasy, you’re good to go!

High Ponytail

Everyone loves a high pony! Most people with short to medium length hair think they can’t achieve one; you can, but it will be more of a messy high ponytail. You scrape all of your hair as high as you can, and secure with an elastic band. I think it looks cute when you hide the hairband, so grab a bit of hair from underneath the ponytail, wrap it around and secure into place with some hair grips. I like to pull little strands out by my ears to finish the look off.
