MY ENGAGEMENT PARTY

Lifestyle

As most of you may know I recently got engaged! EEEKKKK! I still can’t believe Robin finally asked me! If you want to know more about how we got engaged then you can read about it here.We were away in LA when it happened and I was actually staying out in the US to experience a Trek America trip, so it was hard saying bye to Robin after spending an amazing week together. I was so worried people were going to forget we’d got engaged and we’d miss being able to celebrate with family and friends, so I text my Mum and said we need to throw an engagement party for when I get back. I mentioned about having it in a bar on the outskirts of town so that it was easy for everyone to get to and big enough for our many guests; and that was that! I left it up to my Mum to organise along with Robin’s sister and a few of my friends. I mean, I couldn’t leave Robin to organise it for my arrival; he’s not the best at getting things done, bless him. All I was in charge with was the guest list, so I set the date, made a Facebook group and started inviting family and friends along.

I didn’t really know what to expect when I arrived at the bar. We had been given a little section for our party in the main bar area and then there was such a cute set up! Glitter balloons, a DIY photo booth backdrop, the coolest looking cake and the most beautiful flowers. Everyone had gone to such lengths to throw us a fabulous party, it was amazing! They’d taken snippets of the mermaid in me and cacti that me and Robin love! If you’ve ever seen a glimpse of our living room on my weekly vlogs you will have noticed we LOVE cacti and succulents. It’s actually a possible theme for our wedding, eeek!

The photo booth backdrop was such a fab element to have to the party. There was a polaroid camera on hand, lots of film, cute props and even a little board to hang the snaps up afterwards. I didn’t think many people would even bother using the photo booth, but everyone did and we’ve got lots of cute photos of everyone to keep now. It’s the perfect, affordable DIY for a party if you’re ever throwing one. We’re definitely thinking more along the lines of creating our own photo boot for our wedding instead of spending hundreds on one.

I’d love to say thank you to everyone who made our engagement party so memorable! It was amazing to celebrate properly with family and friends all in one room. And if the party is anything to go by, the wedding is going to be unreal! I’m just too excited for it!
