THE WEDDING GALLERY

Lifestyle

As you all know I’m in the middle of planning my wedding; I still can’t quite believe that the big day is getting closer and closer. The planning has been pretty stressful at times though; I’m not going to lie. It’s mainly because I’ve got a dry hire venue, so I’ve had to think about every small detail from catering, bar staff and decor, right down to napkins and cutlery. Most wedding venues have this all sorted for you, but I’ve had to do my research and enquire into costs, nitty gritty details and take charge of booking everything. I know in the long run it’ll be worth it, but I do wish I’d found out about The Wedding Gallery a lot sooner than I did.

The Wedding Gallery

Based in London, just beneath One Marble Arch lies The Wedding Gallery. It’s pretty new which is why I hadn’t heard about it before and why I am writing this blog post. It’s an appointment only, mini wedding department like store. The house everything from the dress to the cake! You’re probably thinking huh? Dresses and cakes? It’s essentially a wedding shop with every fine detail under one roof. You can go there and pretty much organise your whole wedding and even gain inspiration.

When you enter The Wedding Gallery you’re greeted in a small reception area. It doesn’t look very big, until they open a secret door and lead you into the main area. I have to say it is a beautiful store and very easy to navigate as everything has been put into sections. I was taken to the bar/cafe area where I sat and waited for my wedding planner. Everyone gets one with their appointment and you can literally ask them anything you want. They ask you questions about your big day, specifically what you’re looking for. At this point I had a dress, cake, venue etc sorted, so I was focusing more on accessories and decor, but it would be a great place to stake out if you’re clueless about the whole day. After a little chat, you’re escorted around to each section.

The store sort of felt a little bit like a wedding show, where there were areas for specific brands. The Wedding Gallery had obviously picked out the best of the best to house within their store, however they have a whole host of contacts which they can let you know of, which I will go into more detail about below. The upstairs of the store housed a hair and makeup parlour where you could have wedding day trials, jewellery, cafe/bar and props/decor hire. Moving downstairs there were dresses, accessories, Grooms wear, cakes, wedding stationery, flowers, bridesmaid dresses – honestly there was so much! I was able to take a few snaps whilst walking round so you can have a sneak peek at what to expect if you’re thinking of booking an appointment.

Not only does the store house all of these areas, but they also have a room where you can review photographers, videographers and book a honeymoon. I think The Wedding Gallery has such a great concept to it. Referring back to what I mentioned before about the store having contacts, after your visit, your wedding planner reviews everything you’ve chatted about and puts together a PDF document which includes the list of suppliers that might interest you and any costings of products you saw whilst visiting. It’s such a handy document to receive as you can then go off and start enquiring, or the wedding planner can start conversations for you.

One main thing I do have to say about this store though, is that is is more focused towards luxury weddings. So it’s good to keep in mind budgets before visiting as you could go a little over board here. However if you were on the search for something specific for your big day that you didn’t mind splashing out on, then I’d definitely give this place a visit.
