Who doesn’t love a good old cuppa tea in the morning? I’m a huge tea lover! Make me a classic English Breakfast with 2 sweetners and a dash of semi-skimmed milk and you’ll have me in the palm of your hands.
Now with my tea I have to have the perfect mug, it’s not just about how it tastes. Have you ever heard of the British Mug brand Qtique? They sell a wide range of printed design mugs that have each been expertly made to last a lifetime. All of the designs are so cute, they have every letter of the alphabet and now they’re doing muggsies which feature graphic faces with a different emotion. They’ve all been created by ceramic silk screen printing which gives each mug a crisp look.
I was lucky enough to get in touch with the founder and creator of Qtique, Katrina Ives, to find out more about the brand and herself. I know it’s very early, but with Father’s Day coming up I thought one of these mugs would make the perfect gift for a Dad.
Q&A With Katrina
What made you set up Qtique?
I have always been in love with all things pottery,
continually searching for beautiful pieces and trying to find the perfect mug.
After failing to find exactly what I wanted, I decided to create my own
collection. I wanted to transform the humble mug into a little piece of luxury you
could use everyday.

Top tips for making a perfect cup of tea/coffee…
Always use freshly drawn
cold water to boil, put your milk in at the end (and not before!), and wait 6
minutes to drink to enjoy your cuppa at its optimum temperature of 60ºc.
