MOTEL FESTIVAL

Uncategorized

Hiya! So from my last blog post I mentioned that I attended the Motel Rocks #motelfestival press & bloggers day/event yesterday! I actually helped set the whole event up as my flat mate works for Motel Rocks and they need an extra pair of hands. The whole set up took a few hours and we got very sweaty – gross I know! It was a festival theme so think candy floss, popcorn, stalls and bands. We had to get everything prepared meaning building stalls and props; with no instructions if I might add. Took us a while but we did get there eventually. Once the whole venue was set up, it really did look amazing. It was such a good theme and with all the props and layout of everything it really did have a festival feel. The venue was at 229 Great Portland St, a little underground gig type place, a very good size and location for it; it even had a stage for the bands to perform.

The first part of the day was for press, and this meant showing them around the latest Motel Rocks collections, some of which are available online now and the rest from around July/August. The collection was stunning, there were some really cool pieces, a few I have my eye on! Lemon prints, sequins, faux leather sports luxe, fluff and fur this collection had it all! My favourite piece was definitely the orange furry a-line mini skirt they had, honestly it was so cool! I know a lot of people had their eyes on it, so when it comes out I am going to have to bag that straight away! I also had my eye on a 2 piece co-ord in a mermaid shimmery green, it was stunning! I really liked the crop top and high waisted disco pants that matched together in that style.

Once the press part was over it was onto the bloggers event in the evening, here I assisted my other flatmate in filming the event for Motel. This consisted of helping out with the microphone and sound to make sure we got directional sound as there were interviews being filmed with background noise. I cannot wait to see the final video, there was some really great shots captured. The evening event hosted the music artists ‘The Tuts’, ‘Them & Us’ and DJ Billie Porter – and might I add they all smashed it! You should go check them all out here:

Overall the event was a blast and very successful! If you couldn’t make it, then enjoy my selection of pics from the night.
