Hello all!
It seems that a lot of summer 2014 fashion, especially festival wear, is being influenced by Indian culture. I have noticed a lot of bindis, naths (nose rings) and henna on Instagram recently and online from Coachella photos. I love how some fashionistas are being inspired from other cultures and not just from fashion trends we have here in the UK. I’m all about standing out from the crowd and love over accessorising and have actually been influenced by Indian culture myself as I started wearing bindis last summer and even created a few henna designs on my hand for Wireless Festival 2013.
The latest craze is bindi hands and nails. So think nail art but with actual face bindis. This entails one to paint their nails in a cool shade and then placing a bindi on their nail and sealing it in with a top coat. At the Motel Festival for press and bloggers last Thursday, they bought in a nail artist to create bindi nails from ‘Betties and Baldwins‘ and boy did they look fab! Unfortunately I was too busy helping film at the event that I did not get to try it out, but I do have bindis at home so think I might give it go soon!
Why don’t you take some inspiration from Indian culture and try out the latest bindi craze. Even if it’s not on your face and you stick to your nails! Give it a go.
