TAMPERING WITH TAILORING

Now you’re probably thinking this outfit isn’t very me, but sometimes I do love to dress up a little smarter. Miss Foxy kindly sent me these amazing creamy tailored shorts and I just love them! I always crave to be able to wear more tailored garments but with my style I just don’t think it works. Some people can really pull that style off, but not me! Tailored garments are usually quite simple in colours and prints.

Any how, I’m actually in love with these shorts. They let me be slightly tailored but also let me adapt them to the way I dress. They look awesome with these Linzi sandals don’t you think?! I feel like I’ve been successful in bringing these tailored shorts down to my vibe. I’ve made them slightly edgy, or I like to think so anyway.

I’ve got so many ideas on how to style these shorts and I’m SO excited to play dress up when it comes to wearing them. I really wanna pair them with a pair of trainers and achieve a street/tailored look and also with a sporty style top. They’re a great staple to build on any outfit. Just to note too, I have rolled the bottoms up as my legs are quite short and prefer short shorts, I find they suit me better.

With this specific look I wanted to pair the shorts with my navy mesh embellished top from ASOS. Now I bought this years ago, like literally years ago but it’s one of those many garments in my wardrobe I will not get rid of. And I’m glad I haven’t because mesh is still in. It was actually a peplum shape but I cut the peplum off and let the fabric fray, which I rather like; it also made the top more of a crop. Wacked some chunky sandals with the look to lengthen my legs, some mesh socks, a black bandeau and my holographic bag also from ASOS and voila. I felt like I was on holiday wearing this, it was such a sunny day the day I shot this look and it’s the perfect evening outfit for a trip away.

Holiday dreaming already I am… I literally cannot wait to go to America this summer!!!!
