Last Thursday Adidas’s PR company invited me to the launch of ‘Supercolor’ – the extremely colourful collaboration with Pharrell Williams. He’s taken the Adidas Originals Superstar trainer silhouette and added a rainbow of colours to it. A very cool collection that has made i very difficult for anyone buying a pair of trainers as they have a very tricky choice to make.
“Supercolor is a celebration of equality through diversity. With 50 colours of the Superstar, everybody will be able to select his or her colour. It is more diverse than any pack ever before and therefore it is more individual than any pack ever before. With every shoe treated exactly the same, all colours are equal. No matter what colour you choose, you can be part of Supercolor. Choose your colour.”
I love this whole collaboration, for what it stands for and the originality of it. Simple, but it’s got us all talking.
The launch was held at Hackney Reservoir in a huge space. The main event was indoors which featured a photo booth, DJ, trainer collection point, a competition booth with ASOS, an Adidas trainer tree and the whole collection in a colourful circle in the centre of the room.
With wine and Red Stripe on the go the atmosphere was great. A whole bunch of press, bloggers and creatives in one room. There was food available in the outdoors area – curried goat or tempura fish with chips – never thought I’d ever try goat, but it was actually really tasty.
Mid way through the event there was a live DJ outside on the floating stage with smoke machines and a light show. It was very cool over the reservoir.
All in all it was a sick event. Adidas definitely showed off the collection well to all of us. They even provided us with coloured sharpees to get creative at the end of the night with the trainer display.
I had such a blast catching up with other bloggers at the event and I even managed to chuck my hat into the display to get drawn on too!
Once I get my hands on a pair of their fabulous, colourful trainers I will sure be posting a styled outfit for you all to see.
