STYLE FOR STROKE X BOOHOO

Some of you may have heard of Boohoo’s latest campaign ‘Style For Stroke‘ – a slogan tee campaign to raise awareness of strokes.

I was lucky enough to get contacted by Boohoo themselves to be a part of this amazing campaign and cause. I was asked to design my own slogan tee using the pens provided with my famous last words.

I spent a lot of time thinking of a quote to write; I used Instagram & Pinterest for inspiration and after a while I found the perfect one for me.

“Always be yourself. Unless you can be a mermaid. Then always be a mermaid.”

I found it so difficult thinking of a quote as there were so many thoughts in my mind, mostly typical quotes you always hear such as ‘you only live once’ etc. But I wanted something different. Something that stood out and people would take notice of but that also had a little humour to it. Obviously I don’t want to make fun out of the fact this campaign is for such a great cause that will make a difference by raising awareness, I just wanted something a bit light hearted.

I’m not very good at drawing, I haven’t done any in a long time, so ignore the fact that the text might be different sizes and wonky!

Styling up the tee, I paired it with my fab, print Boohoo unitard – it’s actually long sleeved, but I wrapped the sleeves around my belly under the tee because I only wanted the leggings part to show. For shoes I went for my chunky white sandals to finish off the look.

I think it’s truly inspiring and great that Boohoo are raising awareness. I myself didn’t know that almost a third of strokes occur in people under the age of 65. I’m pretty sure there are others out there that will be the same as me. We need to raise awareness so that we know the signs to watch out for. Strokes are a really serious disease and if having one you need to be seen right away. It’s great to know that Boohoo aren’t there for us to shop from. They’re there to be educated from & they offer their audience a lifestyle along with causes to be passionate about. It really makes Boohoo stand out as they’re putting their customers first.
