People always ask me if I have a style icon. My answer is always, ‘I don’t have one’. To be honest, I don’t really have one person that springs into mind. I like to take inspiration from wherever I’m inspired. That could be from just walking down the street, to stalking on Instagram or a celebrity.
I teamed up with Boohoo for this project called ‘My Style Icon’. I sat there for a while thinking about who that would be. And then it came to me. That one person on Instagram that I’ve followed for quite a while and whenever I look at their photos I think god damn they’re so cool. That person being ‘Mstr Of Disguise‘.
Now if I could dress like anyone, it would be her. My style is quite different to Ann’s, however there are elements that I have been inspired by such as her septumn rings and layering of jewellery. She just knows how to accessorise an outfit. And if I still had my long locks, I’d be getting some dreads put in and wrapping bits in fabric!
I love her style. She’s just got it. She’s very cool and just has an edge to her dress sense. For this project, I had to find an outfit from Boohoo that resembled my style icon. I had a little look on Ann’s Instagram and on Boohoo’s site and I knew exactly what I needed to get my hands on.
Mstr Of Disguise nearly almost wears a hat in every photo. So that was one thing I needed. I already had sunglasses and sliders, two more key things to her style. Lastly I wanted something maxi. She tends to opt for oversized clothing and I love her combination of maxi dresses with sliders so I went for this key look.
