A Touch Of Gold

Uncategorized
These gold sequin shorts are another piece from Style London. When I was sifting through a rail and picking pieces out in their showroom I came across these shorts. I absolutely loved the style of them – high waisted. I always opt for anything high waisted now as I have a big butt! I find wearing high waisted garments suit my figure more as my waist is a lot smaller than my butt; I have a very 50s style figure. I hate it at times, but then I suit high waisted garments and they’re my fave so I guess it kinda equals out.

At first, I did think these shorts were slightly over the top and kind of chavvy in a way, but I absolutely loved the colour and with the party season coming up, I thought they were perfect – so I had to have them! And with my styling skills, I knew I would be able to make them look edgy.
Styling them up, I opted for plain black garments to team with the statement shorts – I didn’t want to distract too much away from them, although I’m sure that’s probably impossible! I love the 90s edge I achieved with putting this look together. Wearing a black bralet works well with this look because the shorts are high waisted; but because I had a lot of flesh on show I paired the look with my lace kimono. Shoe wise, I had to go all out so wacked on my Jeffrey Campbell heels – or should I say ‘no heels’ – these shoes are actually surprisingly easy to walk in.
In terms of accessorising I thought I’d go over the top – AGAIN, and over accessorise as that’s definitely my signature. I paired my elastic choker with my gold chain and body chain and voila. A fab, statement, 90s, party season look – perfect for a night out in East London (maybe minus the heels though if your drinking! You’ll no doubt fall over then)
