OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Uncategorized

Black on BlackHeya! So my daily outfit of the day post… Here it goes:I wanted to wear my BOY London tee today. I have not worn it in ages so it needed to make a show. Midi skirts are an ‘in’ thing this AW13 so I thought lets make this BOY London tee have a different style, instead of the usual ‘house’, ‘grime’ vibe it usually has. I combined the tee with my River Island faux leather midi skirt, it was a very black on black outfit, however the BOY logo really stood out. I did not want to wear just all black though, the outfit needed a hint of colour. I think that is a great tip to have. Some of you out there might like wearing black, but sometimes I bet it feels like a routine and dull. Add a hint of colour to your outfit, even if it is just the accessories, or lipstick.I put my gold chain statement necklace on – this necklace goes with everything, you all must invest. They stock them in the high street stores such as Topshop and New Look, but I got mine off eBay for £6 free postage, and it has lasted so much longer than my sisters from Topshop – hers has gone that funny metal colour after the gold has rubbed off.
Next I thought a splash of colour would be cool from one of my many pairs of frilly socks. I purchased these from Topshop, they have tonnes of colours and they are just so handy to have and very ‘in’ at the moment. I decided to wear my orange ones and match the orange with my Mac ‘So Chaud’ matte lipstick – one of my favourite colours.
My hair felt bare, I needed a hat or some sort of accessory to finish it off. Have you ever felt like that? You put on an outfit and something is missing. I hate that feeling, especially if you do not notice until you have left the house. It feels like when you have left your phone at home after going out without it! Worst feeling if I might add…!
Anyway, going off the subject there… So the accessory I chose was another floral headband I had recently made. This one was black and mint green. I think it works as it adds another hint of colour in to the palette and now it does not feel or look like anything is missing. Images of my outfit are below:
