I have been wanting to make a bow bandeau for a while now and today I went to town and bought a normal bandeau from New Look and 1/2 a metre of cotton fabric. I decided to choose a SS12 Prada like print from the Vintage Americana trend. I know it was ‘so last year’ but I loved the print last summer and I am a lover of vintage and pastels are in so why the hell not!
I followed some instructions online to create the bandeau.
Cut 2 rectangles – 9 1/2 inch by 15 1/2 inch
Place the 2 rectangles on top of each other with the print side touching.
Sew all the sides together leaving a small gap. Pull the fabric inside out so it creates a pillow like rectangle with the right side of the print showing.
Then sew the gap up.
Then cut a small long bit of fabric and tie the rectangle to the bandeau in the centre creating a bow. Tack the top corner of each side of the bow to the bandeau and voila you are done!
