GET READY WITH ME FOR A CHRISTMAS PARTY

Did any of you catch my recent Get Ready With Me video over on my YouTube? You’ll be able to see how I create this party hair, makeup and outfit! I loved creating this look so much, that I had to shoot it for my blog.

You might have also read my recent ‘Dressing For Christmas Parties‘ blog post, in which I talk you through all of the party wear essentials needed to create a fabulous outfit just like this one.

When it comes to figuring out what I’m going to do with my hair and makeup, I tend to base this around the dress. On this occassion, the dress was blue and featured silver metallic parts to the fabric, so I used these shades for the beauty and styling elements. I always start getting ready with my makeup as that way there’s less of a chance of me getting beauty products on my dress. The makeup featured a smokey eye, face gems and a blue lip and overall complemented the rest of the look.

Moving on to hair next, I created a soft wave to my locks and then added a touch of sparkle with glitter and sequins. This tied in nicely with the face gems featured in my makeup and also the silvery parts of the dress fabric. Once I’m happy with my hair and makeup, I move onto the outfit.

The dress goes on first and then I raid my shoes and jewellery for styling. A key trend for the party season is diamonte chokers and I’m absolutely loving these at the moment; this style of choker also worked really well with the overall look. For the shoes, I opted for some silvery strappy ones, to tie in with the core shades of the overall outfit. Lastly, because it’s absolutely freezing outside, I finished off with a white faux fur coat for warmth and a hint of glamour.

And that was me Christmas party ready!
